It's 5:58 AM and you're checking your phone before you're even fully awake.
Not for anything specific…you're checking to see if the prospect replied, if anyone sent the followup, if the demo is still on for today. If *all the things* are still in motion.
You have something real. Revenue is growing (maybe not as fast as you’d like). You've got a team now. On paper, you're past the stage where it should still feel like this.
But you're still the one who has to be in the room. Still the one who knows every deal, still the one reaching out when a champion goes quiet, still the one customers want to talk to.
You want your calendar back. To give to product, or engineering, or fundraising. Or just to be more fluid, the way you were before sales became your whole job.
The path there is sales not depending on any one person to keep running. Not you and not your founding AE, or the VP you eventually hire.
But that's a story for another day…
This week, one question: if sales didn't need you in the room anymore, what's the first thing you'd go build?
Hit reply and tell me what you came up with. I read every one.
